Gents,
When I was in the Military and had lent a few (just a few) Top Secret or Classified "books" to my mistress/bio-grapher (I did not have a biographer), that had the names of Covert operatives, war strategy and God knows what else classified material...I would be sitting in Leavenworth until this day. Yup, hard time for me as with 23 hours in solitary and 1 hour exercise in a cage. Ummmm, hmmmm no mercy for this GI who shared secrets and would have to face total castigation as a pariah who betrayed his country. I think I would volunteer to be shot.
Make no mistake, I was pissed when I saw protest signs a few years ago that read "Petraeus Betrayed Us" and defended the General in "around the cooler" talk. Now, the General pays a 40K fine (I guess thats the going rate for sharing secrets), pleads out to a misdemeanor and will serve no jail time. Yup, you can still book him for a speech...for a speaking engagement fee of course.
Ain't that 'Merica!
