The link states that the British Army Cat-o-Nine Tails was not the fearsome Cat-o-Nine Tails used by the Navy.
"There was 1 drummer at Gilbraltar in 1727 who received 25,000 lashes over the 14 years he had served at that station, and was "HEARTHY AND WELL AND IN NO WAY CONCERNED".
