Well spotted......

I painted these in gloss finish for a collector here in Perth. He bought them on EBay and they are pirated copies of Pegaso and Romeo Models figures and come from the Ukraine.

Seems like these guys get one kit, partially asemble it, then makea mould and sell them at a cheap price. They are not as good as the originals, but I suppose people lookimng for a bargain wil buy the inferior product.

I did indicate that on my website, as I'm not in favour of copied or pirated figures, but my website is my way of showing off my painting skills and not a venue to buy them.

Next month there will be an Andrea copy of a Mexican, so keep a lookout for him here http://members.upnaway.com/~obees/soldiers/

regards,

John

Great job on those figures, John.

I updated my front page for September... getting in early, but had a day off yesterday, so got time on the computer.

This month theses is Mexican Gunfighter, again another Ukrainian copy of a Pegaso kit 54-179 and painted in gloss finish.

Other gloss figures are some Medival Kinghts and Artillery, a Lancer Officer, French Artilllery and Fire Woman 1940.

I paint in bit gloss and matt, depending on the type figure, or what the owner wants or what looks best.... I love both styles, but always make it a deatiled finish.

Enjoy,

John

Well done, John! I like the bounty hunter and the Mexican, particularly. You did a great job with the embroidery on the Mexican's sombrero and vest. All of them are excellent!

Prost!

Brad,

its easy to paint when you have something to follow..... when i first was going to paint this figure, I didn't know what colours to use, but on searching I found it was a pirated Pegaso, and they have great pictures on the website, so I printed them and use a a guide.

Thanks for the kind comments, I really appreciate that :)

John

Splendid paint work on the Mexican there John

Thanks for the compliments, I REALLY apprecite it :)

Not many people see my collection, being in Perth, with only about a dozen other collectors here. Thats why I put them all on my website.. for the world to see.

By the way, I had ABC COLLECTORS film crew filming here last week, so you will be able to see all the troops on TV some Friday night @ 8:00 pm soon.

I'll keep you all posted when its on.

John
