Hi

anyone collect Crescent 1/32nd (54mm) figures? - I am hoping to steadily collect one of each pose from toy fairs, ebay, classified ads and elsewhere etc.... I wont be collecting the larger 60mm versions though (nice figures as they are). The original factory was in South Wales if I remember correctly.

I had some in the past, but never got round to completing the sets then I sold them off.

Other UK makers such as Lone*star,Cherilea and Charbens had some good 1/32nd figures too.

Regards
Dave

Hi Dave - Here's a "potted" history of Crescent below - which makes an interesting read.

I like - and collect - Crescent Cowboys and Native Americans ( as they now prefer to be called), as well as all of the other makers you mention. These can often be picked up in a playworn or even broken state from various sources ( street markets, toy-fairs, swap-meets etc) - at very reasonable prices. When stripped back to a casting, (use oven-cleaner), they can then be repaired where necessary and repainted to better than new. Here's a few Crescent's I've restored/repainted below the link. johnnybach

If you are looking for old British Plastic figures then you MUST subscribe to PLASTIC WARRIOR magazine.
Readers small ads are free, the mag is in full colour and they are now doing full colour check lists of all the UK manufacturers.

You can find them by typing 'Plastic Warrior blogspot' into your search engine, then you find subscription details etc.
They also run, for the past 30 years (!) the only plastic figure show in the UK. Lots of old and new figures can be found here.

The Crescent 1/32nd are often found unpainted or part painted. I often give mine a fresh paint job and they look really good when finished. Really easy to paint - I know some collectors like to leave them as they are but the cowboys and Indians for example are very easy to pick up and not rare at all.

You can find then easy often mix with other British brands in many eBay sellers lot from UK generally.
I had got most in that way x bargain prices, ask sellers if willing to ship economic way to avoid high fees in shipping, it take short from UK ,I do all time.
