We seem to be spending a lot of time in the desert lately as in addition to our DAK pre-order, we are pleased to start the pre-order of the first figures of our Mamluk Army for our Crusades range. The Mamluk Army which conquered Acre in 1291 was a veritable juggernut and effectively brought about a complete and final end to the Crusader state in the Holy Land. In addition to the Mamluks, we've also started the pre-order on two additional foot Crusaders to help defend the walls of the doomed city. CRU024-CRU037 Crusaders and Mamluks will be shipping to customers worldwide mid-April 2011. Next up for the range will be more Mamluks and after that, the first mounted Crusaders, small sneak peeks of which can be seen on the Crusades category page on our website. Good things coming for this range to be sure!

So, without further adieu, here are the new figures!

CRU024 Hospitaller Knight Running with Mace - $54.95
CRU025 English Militia Archer - $49.95
CRU026 Mamluk Leader with Captured Flag Standing on Fallen Crusader - $129.95

Hi Mike ,
I'm really excited to have some mounted Crusaders on the horizon :salute::
Thought I'd put the shots up from the web site for others who may not have seen them . I wonder if the first mounted Knight pictured on the banner for the new releases section is going to be a mounted personality figure ?? Best Regards Gebhard

Gebhard,
My only "problem" is that I'm building my dio around some JG miniatures castle sections, so unsure what I'll do with the mounted figures. But what an incredible batch of new releases !!! Need some siege machines next...

Gebhard, I share your enthusiasm for the upcoming mounted Tamplars. They look fabulous. Mike, I have also built my diorama around the JG Miniatures castle sections and I have found plenty of room for a huge number of mounted figures. I just love the mounted knights, especially the Templars. The K&C mounted Saracens are also excellent. If you are able to include the gate in your castle, you might be able to have mounted figures exiting, entering or even battling in the gateway. In my diorama, I have the saracen cavalry exiting the gateway, where they encounter mounted knights. I'm also anxiously awaiting the siege engines that First Legion will come out with. I expect they will be spectacular. In my diorama, I have included the K&C catapult and siege tower, as well as the Conte Collectibles catapult and two of their ballistas. Both catapults and the ballistas are excellent pieces and the siege tower is fine, but I can imagine a more impressive siege tower, if F.L. releases one. Conte kept promising one, but it never materialized. At one point, I had added the Conte battering ram, but at a full 12 inches in length, it took up too much room in my diorama, so I sold it on ebay. It was quite nice though. At this point I like all of my current siege equipment, but any of these could be replaced by a F.L. offering, if it's really spectacular, which I expect may be the case. It's just great that we have so many excellent manufacturers of 54mm Crusades offerings to pick from now.

Bearybones, I believe you've posted pics of your dio before and it was awesome. Your work to weave in the Conte items was excellent to say the least. I'm just adding final dio pieces now (gate section is indeed next on my shopping list), but only have the KC catapult and siege tower-so it's a 'work in progress'.
I agree, GREAT Crusades offerings-FL is clearly committed to this line.
