And last but by no means least, the range which really started our “Swords & Shields” megalomania, we present you with CRU068-CRU072 Crusader Knights. These “redux” figures feature the same fine sculpts as some of the earlier figures in the range but with different, and much improved, painting. Because these sold out so quickly, we decided to release them again to give all of our customers a chance to own these fantastic figure sculptrs. We certainly hope you enjoy them!

CRU068 King Henry II's Standard Bearer in Lusignan Heraldry - $79.95
CRU069 Crusader Knight in Verdun Famly Heraldry- $69.95
CRU070 Crusader Knight with Brienne Family Heraldry - $69.95
CRU071 Crusader Knight with Cloak with Sergines Family Heraldry - $69.95
CRU072 Crusader Crossbowman with Ibelin Shield - $64.95
Pre-Order, Shipping End September

I'll bet Joe (Joegis) will be very happy with these.

I passed on the initial releases but these are so colourful that I am quite tempted if more are released. If I can choose 10 figures from these and subsequent releases, I might just do a limited collection.

One have to be careful about starting a new range (or even re-think collecting of existing ranges)..... really think about how and what to collect because FL have shown a commitment to go in-depth into their ranges and one can sink into a deep, dark hole with no bottom in sight.

Nice looking figures but to my eye they are just better repaints of a few of the first figures they released, I hope this is not a sign of things to come. That's one of the things that I love about First Legion is the richness and diversity in their poses, I have never been one to buy multiples of the same figure. That was one of the downfalls with me collecting Aeroart it got to the point where they had and still have way.... way to many different painted versions of the same figure. Of course the up side for those who missed the First release from the Crusaders line they will have a chance to own these sculpts.. oh well I think I may have to get CRU70 anyway he looks to cool :mad:.. regards Gebhard

Good post Gebs ...I Agree....I guess there is only a limited number of poses reasonably possible within any range......I may consider adding the crossbow figure CRU072 to my existing FL crusader collection. Anyway as you said this is good for the guys who missed the first run.....Also It would be fine with me if the original FL Crusaders were re-released exactly as the first run...I would buy a some of the ones I missed for sure....I prefer the less bright colors of the first release.

I think it is a brilliant move by FL. The Crusades range have done very well and this is a great way for FL to milk it further - and the colourful interpretation of earlier releases make them slightly more compatible with those of K&C - even though the Crusaders of both manufacturers are 100 years apart in history. Those who want to mix both manufacturers in their display should be very happy. If this prove to be successful for FL, may be we can see more of it. Very interesting!

At first, I wasn't sure about the move...then I thought, there's no such thing as too many crossbowmen {sm4}

I myself has a regrets about this line. I wish that I bought more of the Crusader line. The first releases are all sold out. And evey single one looked perfect!!! And the only solace from not getting those, are the Aeroart pieces, which are twice to three times the cost of a First Legion piece. So I do not think I will pass up anything else I like.

The colors on these FL Crusaders are way "TOO BRIGHT" which makes them look "TOY-LIKE"...I hope that FL does not follow this trend......I prefer the realism of the first run of the FL Crusader Line....I buy FL because the paint is REALISTIC.....The first FL Crusader run was EXCELLENT and I would buy more if made available....First Legion please keep your original and excellent paint style.

Hi Frank,
I really don't see these new figures as too bright at all, and with all my experience with buying their products I will go out on a limb here and say its the promotion photography which for me is not very good. I have never received a figure from them and said man the figure pictured is much better, in fact its the other way around with the real figure looking many many times better in person. I'm sure these picture are taken very bright for a reason but they do nothing for me personally. I'm more concerned with the repainting of older sculpts, as a long time collector of FL, I really don't like the idea (and Matt already knows this from conversations) of the prospect of being offered repaints of older figures in new unit colors to represent new units. I understand that many may have missed the first runs but I'm not one of em and I'm not big on it.. regards Gebhard

Unfortunately, i have to agree with you. Too bright for my taste.. Alas
