Really starting to like this period of history. Good variety of figures and colourful too. Nice collection. Robin.

aaaaaah Joe...too cool...

the ballista looks great on your display...

when it was introduced...
a few months ago...
it came with the 4 man crew in the white tunics that you are displaying...
the 2 loading and 2 carrying rocks on a stretcher...

that sane months Andy also put out 5 archers in the white tunics...
and one ambushed rider in the same tunic...

those 10 figures in the matching tunics make a great grouping...

Very colourful diorama. But when shooting the ballista ,will the projectile not hit the wooden cross bar ?
guy:smile2:

Looks great Mike,I have to pick up the Crossbowmen and the and the Rock Carriers next on my agenda.Maybe Andy will make a ballista set for his Greek line,I read Alexander used ballista's to besiege Tyre in 332BC.It will give us an excuse to build another Fortification. " Yea Like we have enough room for another"

Joe...
you're just like me...
you will squeeze it in somewhere if Andy makes it...
I would love to see your Crusader diorama first hand...
I bet it's totally epic...

I did get the archers...
again...
they are in the white tunics...
you will love them when you get them...
can't have enough archers...^&grin

Your right Mike, your archers look great.I guess I will have to get them sooner than later! Every time I say to myself there's enough on my Layout,Andy comes out with something new that I have to get.I guess I have to use some mental fortitude and say no! "Yea right".

hahaha...
yea right...
Joe...
you're just like me...
too passionate...
you have no mental fortitude...
I'm in the process of building a new 7 foot diorama for my castle and Crusader...

I tried to sell my castle at the San Antonio show...
as it's too heavy to sell any other way...

nobody wanted it...

so...........I repainted it...
got rid of that dark Gothic look...
kind of a desert sand color now...
a tan with a white dry brush...

it took a while but I like the color better now...

and am going to add a river at the left end with some of Andy's SP desert buildings and Arab figures...

I just totally outgrew my old table...
my collection expanded so fast it just didn't fit anymore...
I needed a bigger table...

Joe...

how many of the ballistas did you get...
it looks like more than one...
I think I want another...
they look pretty cool...
I would prefer a new artillery crew for it...

but doubt Andy would do another set...

Mike, I love the new color, I prefer it to the previous, most suitable for desert and Palestine IMO. Figures will stand out more, very nice.
ciao
Carlo

I like the new color of your castle, great paint job Mike , it will blend in with your K&C Sp desert buildings.Saw shows and read that the Templar Knights built castles in that area and had to use sandstone to build them as to the color you repainted yours. I only have the one ballista ,thinking of getting another, but like you said will wait for a different painted crew.

yea...you're right...the other one was too dark...more of a Medieval Gothic castle of Europe...not a desert fort/castle...

Joe...

I think I will get another one too...
I wish Andy would offer the original ballista artillery crew in a repaint...
I would buy it...

either way...
I'm going to order another of the "one man ballista set"...

but would gladly buy a repaint of the original artillery set of stretcher bearers and rock handler...

Joe your new addition looks great in your amazing dio.Love it Mike B.:salute::
