I saw this tower along with the undamaged wall section and it is insanely HUGE!! I really thought it was something for 1:18th scale collectors but the more I looked at it, the more I realized it was the FL piece. I gotta think you Crusades collectors can really really make something truly spectacular with these scenic pieces.

My first FL piece was the French Farmhouse which I got last year but this thing just dwarfs that. It is truly a sight to behold.

Makes me sort of wonder if we may see some Roman related pieces in the future.............{sm4}{bravo}}

I totally agree the walls are things of beauty. I just hope that FL will release a bag of rabble to be spread on the ground around the two walls showing the breach. These can be made up of small pieces and larger parts showing block still together. Wouldn't that be nice.

This is great to hear as I'm currently invested in JG Castle sections and am struggling with replacing them with the FL pieces-what am I gaining I guess is my main question.
Are you able to compare the two maker's sets ?

Hello Mike-

I cannot compare the Crusader castles of JG since I cannot recall ever seeing those pieces. I can however offer a pretty good opinion in relation to the Roman fort from JG as I have nearly 2 dozen pieces of that set.

Both sets fit quite flush amongst each other. The FL pieces are a bit pricier but the WOW factor is there in spades. Artistically, I believe both companies offerings are equal but the size of the FL sets REALLY REALLY stands out. That tower is nearly 2 feet tall when you count the flag and it is just really really stout and very robust. A FL crusader castle would be a mammoth endeavor that would really really stand out in your collection.

I know if FL does Roman fort sections I am going to really be hard pressed as to what to do- if they are of the same scale and merit as the Crusader castle.

The tower is two feet high ??? Wow !!!
The JG tower is just a tad over 1 foot high-what a difference.

Glad to help Mike- just to clarify- per the FL website- the tower is 21.5" with the flagpole, 17.5" tall to the base of the flagpole. I said two feet not being fully accurate :redface2:

I wonder how long it will be before the gate is released. I think the gate is the neatest part of my JG Saracen castle. I'm expecting the gate to the FL castle to be quite impressive.

I have been debating on whether to pick up the First Legion or JG castle components. I saw the First Legion components today and they look great. Does anyone know if 1st legion plans to make a gate or a corner tower.
