Here are a few images of my newest Crusades figures that I'll be adding to my continually-developing Crusades diorama. The cart with the banner is carrying Hospitaller supplies. I've customized one Hospitaller and two French knights.

this is very cool...I love what you did here...figuring it out was like a puzzle to me...

okay...

so the MK092...Boris le Batarde (the red Knight)...you had a duplicate and you repainted his hair and beard and then cannabalized and repainted the his hand with the cross from an extra MK03...........is that right...

and on the two French...you said you modified 2 of them...but it looks like you modified 3 of them...is that right...

MK096 is now carrying a banner instead of a long handed axe...

MK008 is now carrying a spear instead of a banner...

and

one of the MK085 is now carrying a banner instead of the flag...

is that right...

whatever you did...I love it...very creative...

now...did you end up with an MK03 with no hand????

Thanks for your positive comments. Yep, you're right on all counts. I had used an extra MK003 years ago, to put his hand holding a sword on another knight and his shield went to yet another knight. I've had that cricifix sitting around for years. With a bit of carving, the crucifix fit perfectly into Boris' outstretched hand. I put an extra 30 years on him, by turning his hair grey. I made the spear for the second MK088 with a copper tube and white putty to form the tip. Likewise the long, thin flag on the spear for the mounted MK085 was made with a copper tube and thin copper sheeting, that I cut with a fine scissors and then painted. I don't consider the MK096 a true modification, because the flag is removable and can be replaced with the original spear. I'm considering painting his helmet blue and his shirt blue and white, to match the colors of MK088, but I'm not sure about that yet. What do you think of the Hospitaller banner affixed to the cart?

George...that's cool too...I didn't even notice it until you mentioned it...did you drill a hole in the cart...you're very creative with the conversions...very nice...

Michael, I can always count on you to be interested when I post new images of my Crusaders. Thank you for that. I think we're two of the primary collectors of the K&C Crusades range. Yes, I drilled a small hole through that cross board at the front of the cart and then made an indentation at the bottom of the cart, so the banner pole will stay in place at the bottom. For such things, I use a tiny manual drill, made for model building. I like to have lots of banners and flags for the Crusaders. Lots of pageantry. Even my wife, being the good Catholic girl, raised partly by nuns, that she has always been, likes all of the flags and banners with the crosses on them. I would expect to see some new Saracens from K&C in the not too distant future. It's been a while now and I know we're both wanting some new ones. My ever-growing collection of Crusaders is running out of people to fight. My Saracens are hopelessly outnumbered and it's getting worse for them with every new Crusader offering.

George...I'm not sure how many guys on here collct the K&C Crusader/Saracen...but few do it like you do it...large scale and enthusiasticly...I have always admired (jealous ^&grin) your collection...and yes...you are right...my Saracens are grossly outnumbered...hopefully Andy will read this and give us some more...especially foot soldiers in combat poses...

Thank you. The oxe cart is by King & Country, from the Life of Jesus series. I think it's a very nice piece. It comes with the two oxen and supplies to put in it. All parts, including each oxe, are separate and can be used together, or separately, making for many diverse possibilities.
