Curio cabinets... (1 Viewer)

I've been looking for curio cabinets and came across these three models:

1) Howard Miller - Townsend Curio Cabinet - 50" W x 21.5 D x 80" H

2) Howard Miller - Ramsdell Curio Cabinet - 50" W x 21.5" D x 80" H

3) Howard Miller - Parkview Curio Cabinet - 50" W x 21.5" D x 80" H

I have chosen these to list here because they have the longest depth which is 21.5 inches that I can find in a Curio Cabinet on the market in my web searches. Does anyone own one or more of these and how satisfied are you with them. Also, if anyone knows of similar Curio Cabinets with a depth of 21.5 inches or greater, please let me know. I'm looking for the best value with a balance in quality. Thanks.

Something else to consider is whether the front glass slides to the side at least halfway. For those size cabinets, I have found it is a lot easier to go in from the front than each side. You can see what I am talking about with my cabinets by clicking below. Also, the strength of the glass is evey important.

WOW... I'll say it again WOW!!! That is one amazing collection!!! Glossy figures look so great in Curio Cabinets.

What brand of Curio is that? It looks like it has a nice depth. Is it over 20 inches in depth? Yes, those cabinets I mentioned do have sliding glass doors in the front.

Thank you for your kind words. The cabinets are at my office and I will let you know Monday who makes them. The lights get hot for those figures on the top shelf. You might want to consider some type of collector spot light or track lighting. The bottom shelf is dark wood and your collection will show up better if you wrap some beige material around a piece of cardboard and place it on top of the wood. Also, try to plan ahead as to the shelf height because they are a pain to raise or lower. The good news for that person in your home who might be concerned about dust is there is none. I hope this helps.

No dust.... = ... high list price I'm sure... I have a Franklin Mint Cabinet and it still gets dust...even with its high price...

I think it depends on the curio cabinet. I have been fortunate with those rather than the ones that open on the side. Also, the amount of acceptable dust is in the eye of the beholder.

Check out Ikea. They have some cabinets that you can customize with doors, glass, etc. Very affordable and very nice looking. First time I saw them a a friend's house I thought they were custom-made.

These Howard Miller cabinets that I have listed on the first post below are on sale right now, but they are still quite pricey...

I'm also, exploring the idea of using a local carpenter/craftsman to make me a couple of curios based on the same design with the same material and features. Might as well help out the local business community and get a bigger discount at the same time!
