For those of you who have read my other posts on this series, you know I wasn't pleased with the price increase and the "P" painting that was supposed to be a much better rendition on the figures. I was into the new cavalry figures already so I decided to order a mounted and 2 foot Indians to see what all the hoopla was about. One of the figures was pushed back to the end of June, but I received the other 2 figures today. First off, they're packaged in new boxes marked PATHFINDERS, very attractive. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the 2 boxes. The mounted warrior, Rain-in-the Face, was outstanding. His headress was sculptured and painted to a "P" degree. Much more was sculptured and painted than just black lines indicating items. Even the loading area was indicated on the Yellow Boy. The kneeling warrior was just as well done. My hat is off to K&C for a job well done. However, the warriors that are carrying tomahawks and war clubs are of eastern woodland design. It would have been nice to see a gun-stock club and/or plains designed tomahawks or war clubs. Hopefully in the future...

"Pugio":

Thanks for your interesting comments on the new "The Real West" (TRW) series that has finally gone back to add to the Custer's Last Stand theme after 14 years! I started getting the old circa 1998 copy write productions of Custer's Last Stand under K&C''s "The West" (TW) back in about 2001 or 2002 as this series was being retired. After waiting until 2009 for K&C to add more figures to this series I gave up and downsized my diorama to a smaller area with the figures I had and gave up on the larger sized diorama space. I was surprised to see K&C come out with some 1876 U.S. Army Cavalry sets in late 2012. I was not going buy any of the new sets at first, but then the end of 2012 I added the "Trooper's dead Horse" and in early part of 2013 I added the "Corporal" & the "Sergeant". I was going to add 2 or 3 of the foot Indians recently, but backed off from buying them do to the high price of $59.00 per foot figure. I am sure the new American Indians figures are splendid, but I do not really need them to fill out my smaller diorama of Custer's Last Stand especially at these new high prices.
