Sorry guys, this was meant to be a clip from a newspaper regarding the sale of a bloodstained flag found on the body of a trooper at the Little Big Horn, but the pic of new SA sets keeps coming up instead, my apologies

This is really quite fascinating. I had no idea such an artifact exsisted, much less available on the public market. That would be one remarkable piece of history to own. -- Al
 
Interesting article. A photo of that guidon in another book says that it was recovered from the indians at the Battle of Slim Buttes. It is in fact a troop guidon, not a flag as such. Although most people think of them as always being red and white. during the Civil War and for quite some time afterwards they followed this pattern
