A passionate customer from the old continent in France sent me some images the other day of a Waterloo diorama he is working on and he said it would be ok if I posted the images for you all to see. Personally, I think he's done some fantastic work. As you can see from the images, the diorama is not yet complete as there are a few slots for a few additional British Guards. He has also informed me that once he receives the French Carabiniers he is going to remove the French Line Infantry and put the Carabiniers in the center instead charging the British on the ridge.

Great photo's and a job well done by a fellow First Legion collector. It must be a very rewarding part of your job to receive such photo's from HAPPY customers . Thanks for sharing them with us. ;) Keep up the Great work The new Russian artillery set looks Fantastic by the way.

Great dio indeed and thanks for sharing. "Vive la France !"

Very well done. I like how he has allowed for the height of the figures base. Each base has a pre-cut slot into which it goes. If he changes the French figures to be cavalry, won't he need to totally change the ground work?

Having nice ground work goes a long way to making the figures come alive.

He sent me one image showing a large square cut out of the center. So my thinking is that what he has in their now for the French Line infantry is temporary and can be removed such that he can display it either way. From his email he said "The part(party) of the diorama or is the heavy infantry is not fixed but just integrated(joined) into the place reserved for the " load(responsibility) carabiniers."

Nicely done. Doesn't look like it takes up huge amounts of space and look like you could easily relocate it.

Sounds like he is thinking ahead. A little fore thought can go a long way to save you a lot of extra work later.

Thank you for sharing these pictures with the forum. It helps me know how I want to build my future diorama.

That is certainly one way to go but I could never do it that way. I am never satisfied with just one version of a scene and am constantly rearranging the figures to get a different result. If you are content with a single version of a scene this would seem to work well. In any event it is a very nice display.

I rather like this diorama. The method of having the bases flush with the terrain is not one I have seen before. I think it came out well.

Is there any collector who is BIIIIIIG Napoleon fan and that he have like 1000 figures, and than he make this big diorama of one big battle.
Like Waterloo or something and that he show us how the battle took place.
Like remake of the battle, with photos and text.
Like first photo he photo the France army marching from the east(or something),than the English army marching from some other direction,...and we can see all that forces and than he show us how the battle go.
You know what i mean?
First he put all the forces in a battle field, than he move this forces like it was in real battle(infantry attack, cavalry attack from the wing,....than we can see how the English army response,....) so we can learn how the real battle go and how it is finished.
Can anyone do that?

In 1/32 scale?:eek: I would love to do that for you if you would give me the $7:eek:,000 or so sum needed to cover the 800 infantry and 200 cavalry.:D:cool: I'll even reduce that by the 140 or so I already have.;):D

While you cogitate on that, take a look at the first post in this thread for a nice smaller scale alternative.

yes i was thinking a 1/32 scale.
Maybe we all need to bring our figures and make on ebig diorama and than sale tickets so that people can come to look at the dioramas,or photo them and make a calendar or something.
One man can not do that alone because no body have enough soldiers but if we join the forces,....COME OUT AND PLAY!!!!
