for many collectors, including myself, we want to use multiples of the same vehicle type. K&C did this for their Russian T-34's using different markings and hatch positions.
For the 1967 Israeli/Arab War in particular I would like to have at least 3 super Shermans and 3 of the forthcoming M3 Halftracks. If and when their Arab opposition tanks appear several would be required as well.
Of course there are some very talented "artists" who can customize, as we have seen, but it can be quite pricey.

My suggestions would be to provide moveable hatches, loose accessories such as personal equipment and a way to customize the markings.
I was thinking of decals but I believe most collectors would think this takes away from the value and realism. Then I though that a "stencil kit" might work.
Along with cut outs for letters, symbols and numbers there can be a small bottle of paint and brush.
I'm sure there would be some other suggestions and I think this would add to sales for the makers. Instead of buying the one off piece and hoping that some time in the future there would be a remake/remodel a collector can buy multiples and customize them to create a realistic diorama.

Any thoughts?

I had one of the Shermans customize by Mitch. He repainted and used decals. I think it looks great. I can post pics later, but they’re posted somewhere here already if you’re bored and want to look

You can get away with a lot with idf vehicles from this era as the markings were generally quickly thrown on there when the vehicle arrived at the war zone. Basically a guy with white paint and a brush just slapped it on.

The challenge is matching up the tank color so you don't have to repaint the whole tank.
I wonder if Andy would be forthcoming on the paint color he uses (or combination) so we can cover up
the markings and replace with new ones. Also not sure I would be comfortable with doing the hatches
myself.
What would an expert charge to do the conversions?

Hi Guys,
I certainly have no problem with anyone 'customising' any of our vehicles to meet their own personal requirements.

As for the particular paint colour of our 'Isherman' or any of our other Israeli vehicles...Our master painter in HK who did the original basically used variations of different 'Desert Sand' colours widely available from companies such as Tamiya...Vallejo....and Games Workshop. Then mixed them to find the colour we both felt best matched the ones used by the Israeli Army of that period.

Hope this helps...good luck!
Andy.

King and country have produced the same tanks, Tiger 1 and Panzer 38, with different turret numbers, I have bought all of them and they make two great dioramas. I wish K & C would do the same, group of Shermans, with an M32 would be fantastic, could be for Normandy or the Ardennes.
