A spring release in paperback by Robert Dick, the driver of an M4 tank nicknamed "CUTTHROATS", this is an unusual subject as it touches on US armor in the Pacific Theater. "Cutthroats" is Mr. Dick's memoirs of his time in WW2. He served in an independent tank battalion in the recapture of the Phillipines and on Okinawa. His memories seem quite clear and the book is very easy to read. I highly recommend it, not just for the subject of the Sherman tank, but for the clear recollections of military life during WW2. It's also inexpensive by current military books, about $6.99 USD on Amazon.com

Gary,

Thanks for the recommendation. I will get a copy!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Sounds good to me also as there is not a lot of information readily available on the tank fighting in the Pacific Theater. I will be picking one up soon.
