I caught the first of two new episodes on the History Channel investigating the DB Cooper case. This does not appear to be some kook Bigfoot-like exercise that has become the norm to get ratings but some reputable folks looking back at the evidence and suspects. Most interesting was casting doubt on the FBI's assessment that Cooper was some kind of novice who likely died in the jump. Rather, he apparently had some unusual understanding of how the plane operated and selected the best possible chute for the jump. Also they implied that the fragments of money that were found some years later may have been planted for discovery to give the impression he didn't survive. I always wondered why there was no missing person report in the months following this event that would have led to a suspect if Cooper had perished in the jump. There would almost certainly have been someone report him as a missing person. Given his age, race, and identifiers like having sky diving experience there could not be a whole of lot of such folks who went missing in the aftermath of this event. And that would be your guy. If he survived, however, it would be a different story.
