Christmas is fast approaching - like it or not - and what's better under the tree than a big box of toy soldiers?
What I have for sale here is a nice reproduction of one of the most popular playsets ever made, Marx's Davy Crockett at the Alamo, based on the 1950's Walt Disney TV series King of the Wild Frontier.
Has never been played with or buttembled, box contains: Certificate of Authenticity stating that all parts were produced from original moulds or reproductions of same, 2 U.S. flags (36 stars), 1 Mexican flag (1824), 8x10 still glossy of Fess Parker as Davy Crockett, story leaflets about D.C. and the Alamo, Davy Crockett character figure (white) tin litho fort, 9 plastic cannon 'bullets', 4 siege ladders (brown), 36 Mexican soldiers (light blue, shakos and presidio hats), 36 Texians (reddish brown), 14 Indian warriors & 1 totem pole (red), 20 U.S. cavalry soldiers including 2 scouts (grey), 4 cannon, 14 horses in 3 poses (black, white, brown), and a bag with camp accessories.
To get you into the spirit of the whimsy, I'll also include a 2-disc set of Walt Disney Treasures King of the Wild Frontier, all episodes as originally presented by Walt himself, approximately 4 1/2 hours running time.
Asking $ 80 plus shipping, which will vary upon destination. Shipping with insurance within the US probably about $ 20, based on the last time I was at the post office.
Questions welcome!

mmmm i knew i was missing something from my alamo collection .........

Now this has been roughly 60 years ago but I seem to remember when the Davy Crockett hoopla started Marx did produce an early Alamo playset that had indians instead of Mexicans. Now that would have caused the bean counters head to explode!
