I could not believe my eyes when I saw the pic of the MMA ( Called ..Mickey Mouse Airline in Perth many yrs ago)...Dc3 being loaded for its journey to Perth...to be used at a McDonnell in Perth Midland...(Ac history long story).....the small pics are it being moved from Midland to a former RAAF wartime base ...not in use but still Govt property......the ac is also shown ...painted up as Trans Australia Airline for a few seconds roll in an Aust TV series...Shark Net ..I think it was called.....Short History....McDonnell was going to sell the Dak as scrap....A small group of us offed to move the Dak free of charge ... McDonnell accepted....We got permission to store the aircraft on an old RAAF property outside of Midland.....We had plans to set the DC3 up at a local run govt tourist venue ...the plan fell through....we were broke after the cost of the removal...approx $5000......we had to shift the aircraft from the old base as we only had a 12 month agreement to store it there....luckily we found a buyer and saved the aircraft again from the scrape heap......last heard the Gooney Bird is alive and well... .....win some...lose some...TomB
