I have a customer wondering what the box is on the front of the jeep. I assume it's a toolbox of some sort...can anyone clarify for me?

I would hate to be the one who needs to run for more ammo under heavy fireThe construction of the box is typical of a US artillery ammunion crate. OK, why would a jeep need an artillery ammunition crate? 1) Because the troops would use empty ammo crates to keep personnal stuff or 2) Andy just didn't care and thought that type of crate looked good in the model ;-)

Spain.I remember seeing a box just like that in my grandma's garage in the Philippines. She was using it as a tool box. It has some faded markings. The only one I could read is U.S. Army and "RIOJA" anyone knows what RIOJA means?

Oops - the question was supposed to be about the bar on the front bumper. Can anyone clarify that?

Its an ammo packing code, usually seen on artillery ammunion. I can't quote the exact meaning but it shows up on decal and transfer sheets for US 105mm howitzer ammo crates.
