Today I opened six K&C boxes of new DD figures and I received a wonderful present from King & Country. These Big Red One figures (and the tank repair team) have got to be some of the best sculpted figures that K&C has produced. They look so real, so battle worn and so human.

Thank you King & Country for such fantastic work. I expressed this some time ago, but I truely believe that we collectors are very lucky to be collecting today. Makers are responding to our call for better quality and more accurate figures. Yes the vehicles are great and getting better, but I am in this hobby for the figures. The golden age of matte is upon us.

Not got 'em yet, but will be doing. From the photos alone, I'd agree. Some of the best poses I've seen K&C come out with.

I haven't got the Big Red One figures yet, but I was extremely pleased with the Tank Crew. When I chatted with Andy a couple of weeks ago, he was really excited about the BRO figures, so I will have to give them a look.

I'm with you Michael, there is something different about these figures; same deal with the Heer Infantry and the new 8th Army sets. Andy has outdone himself with these latest additions to the K & C family, the Big Red One figures are selling faster than I can order them, wow.............

These are some of the best K & C has ever made. I picked up Over There, DD 96, from George on Sunday. By itself, these figures are a great scene: a grizzled veteran telling a rook what to do or anything you'd like to imagine.

That's great news as I have all of these on order.

While I won't go so far as to put them in the class of the Russian connoisseur figures, dollar for dollar the K&C figures are arguably the best all round figures on the market.

Thanks for the report Michael

Me personally, well, there's no way, I don't care how good the the BRO look, they are gonna unseat the 82nd or 101- it's just against everything I stand for :p

My favorite American WW2 figures are DD20-21 and DD25-26. I just love DD20 and the fact that they do not have the bases to them. They are superb.

Overall though, no one tops SF04- The modern marines- that is perhaps my favorite set of all.

Favorite German grunt series- probably WS48-51 or the first FJs.

Great thread bud.

I have to agree. I just opened the new US tank repair team. What a fantastic set. I received all of the new D-Day sets last week. Great sets as well. They just keep getting better.

I Just Got Two Of The New Big Red One Sets Last Week And They Are Really Amazing!! Especially The Wounded Soldier Being Pulled By Another G.i. Plan On Getting The Rest As Well....sammy

Just got DD097 in the mail.
Wow.
Seriosly well sculpted, animated and painted figures. I'm liking this change of direction in relation to the poses.

I just got DD095 for father's day so it made me wonder do I still get points for that purchase or are those points for my wife?

But what about the generic loading, kneeling firing, lying firing and lying wounded poses. Where are they now?

I wish you guys would stop saying how good these new figs are,i've finally decided to get FJ's next week in London and you are testing my resolve!;)

I agree. K&C has improved in both sculpting and the poses are animated. I hope they will doing the same for up coming Napoleonic releases.

I got most of the FJs not long ago after thinking not to expand into this range, but have to say they are very nicely done. Hopefully they can be expanded into later war versions that were fighting around Normandy. Was gearing myself up to get at least a few of these new BRO figures, but seeing them up close in the shop was not too overly impressed I'm afraid..
