Which types of dead and wounded figures would you pick from a list if you had the chance?:)

Maybe you'd like some WW2, but maybe you'd like some Civil war, or American Revolution, maybe even Napoleonic?:)

You can have your say thanks to this thread:D

After you have voted, if you have, then please comment on why you have voted your choices:)

I voted:
German - Normandy
British Paras - Arnhem
American - Winter
German - Winter
American/British - D-Day
Luftwaffe/Falshirmijagers
Dunkirk
And finally
Confederate

I thin the German Normandy and Winter figures would liven up my battlefields, as would the American Winter ones, and D-day American/British:)
I love Arnhem, so anything Arnhem is just total and utter bliss for me;):D
Falshirmijager/Luftwaffe, just because they would fitin with Normandy figures:D
Dunkirk, because think of all the British ones, doubt this range would ever happen for them but:(
Confederate, because I love the uniforms, and I've got this thing for the Confederate Army, wish that they woulda won:eek::D
Great choices I think;):D

I have voted for the ranges that I collect .. NAPs, AWI & ACW. I particularly like walking wounded, sitting, kneeling, crawling, dazed or reaching out for help/water.

I also rather favour falling and " kneeling over" rather than "lying flat" dead on the ground ... as the latter pieces are pretty much one dimensional.

Thanks for taking the time to tell us why mate:)
Wish more members would do that, so that you could get their thoughts:D

I too am more favourable, to the crawling, or reaching, or in 'Mid falling' pose, as it gives off an impression that the event is happening right infront of you:)

I know they give dios a more realistic look but I don't really care for dead figures. It's more realism than I need. I have a couple of sets but in boxes they sit.

Therefore, I didn't vote. How about a none of the above choice?

What sets do you have Brad?:)

Figures like those enclosed gives dios a more realistic look - dead or not. I think they are some of the best K&C figures among the catagory dead/wounded.

I would also like to see some dead German/British WW1 soldiers to put in bomb craters - with missing limbs or even half skeletons (like the unpainted Verlinden)

I too didn´t vote - due to above which is my main interest! :)

I have the set with the Saracen with Crusader's had in his hand, it is great, especially the dead figure!:D

I know there are many people on the forum who don't like the dead and wounded figures and i understand how they feel. But for me they not only add realism but they are also a reminder in our hobby of exactly what we are talking about and the huge price paid for our freedom.

Well spoken - Rob! And whatever we like it or not, war always makes casulties.

Dead or wounded figures are therefore also a part of the history made in dios.

And as one of your fellow countrymen once said:"Those who would ignore history are doomed to repeat its mistakes!" Yes! Good old Winston. :)

With all due respect (and I hope you don't get mad Rob) but if we need toy soldiers to remind us of the sacrifice of others have made throughout the centuries, we're in a very bad way.

Brad,i meant only in the sense of within our collections,a little nod as it were,i did not mean generally.:)

Well of course that is a choice you have whether or not any are produced. To me depicting a battle without casualties is an oxymoron. It seems ironic to me to create dios with all manner of lethal weapons and poses and not show any of the results. I am hardly a fan of blood and gore but I agree with Rob. Interestingly although the "reminder" may not be needed by many, historically it has been needed by many who have the power to start wars.

Well, I don't agree with you (but that won't be the first time) as there are different kinds of dioramas you can produce. I don't care for the dead figures and I know there are others out there who also don't care for them.

No one would disagree with the "reminder" when it comes to starting a war but in the remembrance context, I don't believe we should need a little metal representation to do that.

Guys, guys, guys:eek:

Let's not start our own private little war on the Forum!

The Forum is for expressing one's ideas and/or feelings in one's own personal ways, about what ever prospect they so choose:)

If someone disagrees, yes we can have spirited debates about things, but let's not get carried away with our own personal 'Moral Highgrounds':)

If you don't like something, as Brad described, then you have the right to say why, but if you do like something, or think that it would be an interesting verbal subject, then please speak your mind, and do not apologise for your feelings, however if you do say something in the wrong way, a 'Boo-Boo' in other words:rolleyes:;)Then you can of course apologise for said 'Boo-Boo'
But also let's not pick up on little bits of what someone else said, and focus on the negative prospects of this statement:)

Just had to get this off my chest before we have a Civil War:D

'The Wealthiest Man, Is He Who Has Many Good Freinds!':)

Brad is just stating his view, theres no aggro here at all. Each to their own i say,for me if you want realism you got to have dead and wounded, but thats just me.:)
