Your image made me think it was of a ghost perhaps waiting on Slapton Sands for his buddies.

If you haven't heard of it, in April 1944 during a training exercise called Tiger, in the build up to D Day, German E boats made an attack on landing craft causing the deaths of hundreds of GI's with many drowning.
