Hi Fellas,

Every year, it's a tradition in my home to decorate for Halloween/Autumn and Christmas. The Mrs. is in charge of Christmas and I the Fall. Our focal point is a fireplace in the family room. Usually, we sort of pick a theme but this year, I didn't want to take down the K&C Normandy Village and/or find an alternate location, so just sort of worked around it. The outcome wasn't too bad (IMO). I may purchase a Fall tree, perhaps add a few miniature pumpkins and if so, will certainly share some pictures.

This also got me thinking, do you guys decorate/create displays with your K&C?

A great way to remind yourself of the hobby you contribute so much too Rob. Tradition is a great part of our life’s and this a beaut example. Robin.

What a great and original idea my friend...Many thanks for including K&C in your 'Home Decorations'!
All the very best to you and your family,
Andy.

One of the Dio's I made and kept for myself. This one sits in my WWII room over the computer 24/7

Thank you Robin. That's very nice of you to say.

All the very best to you and your family,
Thank you Andy. Some rough times right now and I think it's important to enjoy the time with family sharing the things we appreciate most. K&C is certainly one of mine!
Best to you as well!

Very cool, Wayne!

Nothing changes, except the seasons, as the war drags on. Robin.

PS Rob sanctioned a copy cat.... after all imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Well done, both of you ...

one for the first setup, and Robin for using that inspiration and replicating that scene.

Such is the power of the internet, connecting like minds in a positive manner :) :)

Robin, excellent! At first, I thought I was looking at pictures of my scene (LOL!) Is that a Mud Marine posing as Sgt. Saunders? Love seeing the slight variations you used to create a similar scene. Your dio also demonstrates how we have so many of the same pieces. Well done my friend!

Fun studying your scene and raiding 9 of my permanent displays to duplicate. Some of your accessories I do not have, but I compromised. Finding everything was a bit of a challenge Rob, as at first I did not realise how many items you had incorporated in the scene. We do have similar tastes which prompted me to take this on. Robin.

I'd say you did one hell of a job, esp. with the pieces that you did not have. Great choice of alternate substitutions. I must admit that I like a "full" and "busy" scene, and as one always pressed for tabletop/shelf space, suppose I fill up the dioramas. It is really cool to see a different version as you've created.

Meant to say thanks John. Appreciate the nice comments.

Hi Fellas,

Started the Christmas decorating this weekend and one of my jobs is to do the fireplace. After everything around the Normandy Village was set, I "snowed" things over to winterize the scene. Not done yet, but to continue decorating with K&C this holiday season:

And a close-up of the village:

I will most likely remove a few of the "warmer figures" as I add on to the village this season.

Too early for me I’m afraid.

That Santa is going to be up there for nearly 2 months!

This topic and my post isn't really about how early one puts up their Christmas or holiday decorations. It's about decorating with K&C. Not to get into the troubled times right now (some of which are personal), but if Santa and a Christmas Tree bring a little cheer and happiness to the house; they are welcome, even if it's 6 weeks early.

Hi Guys,

Hope everyone is doing well. Enjoying K&C's recent releases and the great images posted here on Treefrog.
With Fall and the holidays coming in the next few months, is anyone planning any holiday displays?

Normandy in Fall?
Battle of the Bulge?
World of Dickens?
Christmas in 'Nam?

To name a few...
