The first thing I did at my first meeting as the Mayor of the Village of Roslyn Harbor was to begin the process of building a Veterans’ Memorial for our Village. My exact words were “I am not going to be the mayor of a village without a Veterans’ Memorial.” Working with an Eagle Scout who volunteered to raise the money, we are finally ready to dedicate the Memorial, and plan to do so Veterans’ Day. There will be a reception at my house after the ceremony for the Boy Scouts, all Veterans in attendance and any of my friends who attend. Anyone who would like to attend, please let me know.

Firstly congratulations:salute::

However now that we have a Mayor on the forum I think we should consider the correct form of address. Some options are :

Sir Louis of Roslyn,
Your Lordship,
The Right Honourable (however you being a lawyer could pose a problem with this one{sm3})
The Great Dictator,
The Harbour Master,
The Don of Roslyn,

By the way check out the Daily Mail web page for the Silent Soldier memorial story. Cheap and easy to do.

Naturally I am looking forward to seeing your policies on diversity (from looking at the village web page there are too many white dudes amongst your office bearers !), renewables (any windmills nearby ?), climate change (you are next to water so probably need to impose laws requiring all to raise their houses several feet in case of flooding). NOT !

Actually you should think about making yourself a dual office holder and make yourself Sheriff and authorise a fancy mega pickup type car. :cool:

I know your budget is probably tight so I naturally waive my usual exorbitant consultation fee.

I’m a simple man, “your honor” will do nicely. 😂
