Nicholas inspired me to play with my Del Prados after his great Nap conversions...

Del Prado doesn't seem to get much play on this forum...

but they are pretty much quality figures and you just can't beat the price on them...

you can't buy mounted figures for $19.95...usually on sale cheaper than that ...

I mean $19.95 for a mounted figure...talk about "bang for your buck"...

the only thing I didn't like about mine...were that they had no bases...they were unstable...I had to make bases out of Sculpey...then paint them...

I have been told that Del Prado was either a subsidiary of K&C or handled by their factory...I'm not sure...but the work seems similar...perhaps the quality of the painting is not quite as good...

anyway...I'm going to post some pictures of mine...
some closeups...
please excuse the flash...
but I'm trying to show the detail as best I can...

These are great, Michael. I guess I just haven't been paying attention, but I didn't even know that Del Prado did crusaders. I must have tunnel vision. I absolutely agree with you regarding the "value" of Del Prado's figures for the price and a little surprised how little anyone mentions them.

I also agree that the quality of the paint skill is nowhere near that of K&C (I sometimes have to clean up sloppy painting with a little touch up), but some of the sculpts are almost identical...not quite, but almost.

Nicholas...the style of the sculpts is very similar...do you know anything about Del Prado being K&C's sister company?

I guess I bought about 20 of the Del Prado Crusader/Saracens as "filler" for my castle diorama...I never regretted buying them...

I'm not surprised you didn't know they made this line...they are obscure and hard to find at best now...even if you find them...they are usually out of stock...

I think you and me spoke on the phone about someone on Ebay selling them for only $9.95...but the shipping from the UK was brutal...Joe Quintini (theLt.) originally pointed them out to me on Ebay for that price...
