I have been looking at Del Prado on the net.....The figures are under $20 (unpainted I presume) and so are the Tanks (Plastic ?)...from the pic's they all look very good...are they as good as they look and as cheap as advertised ?......I have picked up a couple of De Prado from the Flea Market (5)....two are very thick set and bulky...3 are slimmer and much better....scale 60mm......do all their figures vary from between thick and slim or have I got an earlier batch....no idea of age....just curious ....TomB

It's hit or miss with these. Some are very well done, some not so much.

They come painted- the reason they are so cheap is that they are mass produced on a much larger scale than most manufacturers, they are not packaged excessively, they are not always painted as nice as most makers, and they are made as stand alone figures, which appeal to more markets. Many are sculpted by King and Country, and those ones are often very good. Others are a bit bulky. The new ones are by some other sculptor, and they seem to have a better painting standard. Tanks are a mix of things, I believe.

Thank you.....good explanation.....satisfies my curiosity on the firm and their products......Happy New Year....TomB

I just picked up some Del Prado figures. They all look fine and fit in perfectly with TG K&C CS ect. They are not quite as detailed as the other manufacturers but you cant beat the price.
Thank you for that info....details are nice but you can live without them (more minute details)....Happy New Year....TomB

yes, some are bad, some medium and some really nice quality....And some poses you will not find in main manufacturers....So Del prado are very useful to integrate a more expensive brand in a diorama...

The Del Prado toy soldiers i have are quite nice for the price...They fit in well with my K&C collection as filler for my themes...I have not looked at everything Del Prado has available , but their line Soldiers of the 21st Century of which the few i have are from are good...I will attach a side by side of an early K&C german officer standing next to a Del Prado Romanian Soldier i use for my eastern front...

Del P.jpg These are the 5 DP figures I have...an Airfix 54mm is added for size comparison....the Scot and the German are top figures...the other three are too bulky and not as well done...though the Russian is okay except for bulk (my opinion)....the good figures appear to be good value for money...though as pointed out in a previous post they are stand alone pose's ...not much use for the average dio I guess....HNY...TomB
