Del-Prado

Guys, just noticed on E-Bay Del-Prado/K&C Napoleonic figures, is there a place I can find these figures on line.....they look really good now that K&C has their hands in the pot. Is the quality as good??

Cheers
Wellington

Contact Jazzeum, I sent him a copy of the issue #2 of the french magazine Militoys in wich there is a paper about the Del Prado figures with about 120 photos. I'm sure he'll be more than please to mail you a photocopy of it. For my part, I really don't like those figures (they don't have the K&C quality even if made by them) and they are 54mm if I recall well.

Regards,
Pierre

Dear Wellington:
Check out my thread in "Other Manufacturers": "Del Prado will be available in the U.S." Unfortunately, ONWTC took out the statement they would be posting pictures of all the figures soon. See also "What is known about Del Prado" for some forum discussion on the quality of the figures. It appears to be a subjective thing and dependent on the particular figure -- some forum members think some of the figures are as good as regular K&C and others think they are of a poorer quality. :)

Re Steven's comment, it depends on the figure. The figure of the Canadian soldier is pretty childlike whereas the German Afrika Korps paratrooper is dead on for the issue in AK 11. The figures are actually bigger than K & C size.

The photos of the figures are almost finished for posting on the ONWTC site. I have one of each of the Napoleonic figures in my collection and they are of the same quality as many of the K&C figures. The sculpting changes in quality just as Andy's in house line did...for obvious reasons. The downside is that I like the British subjects more than the French, and many of the mounted figures were done by his old sculptors so they are a bit smaller and not as well defined as the newer sculpts.
With that said...how can you beat the price?
