Just wondering if there are any other Napoleonic collectors out there that feel Del Prado is as good or almost as good as K&C for obvious reasons (K&C assistance) and feel that Del Prado undermines their collection? I buy K&C for there quality and this is my excuse for paying that extra bit, but when I look at SOME of the Del Prado figures they are just as good or even better in some cases for 1/3 the price. These new figures that just came out, I ran out and placed my order only to find that some are the same as Del Prado just different paint or maybe an arm etc. is in a different pose. The reason I like K&C is also because all of the figures I buy work together to tell a story (regiments). The last group just released won't really fit anywhere. I know I don't have to buy them but I'm trying to keep a complete set of Napoleonics from K&C and can't do this if I start picking and choosing... I really don't want a collection of odds and ends (BEAUTIFUL FIGURES I MIGHT ADD). This is in no way to get Andy upset just expressing my thoughts, rather than a single figure representing a regiment I would rather see a few of each, one guy will have a hard time fighting off a regiment.

Does anyone else feel the same?

I agree with Wellington on this one. I was a little disappointed to see these stand alone Del Prado type figures, even if K&C did the original sculpts. Much prefer K&C figures that work together in a group. I would hate to see this great Napoleonic line that K&C has started get sidetracked by taking it another direction.

Glad I'm not the only one who has a concern about this subject....Thanks for the support Dragoon!!!!

Wellington......;)

When I first saw the pictures posted on Treefrog, the first thought that came to my mind was, "these are Del Prado's." I know K&C does the Del Prado figures, but I personally consider my collection to be K&C. They, for the most part, are the same quality as K&C and some are just plain beautiful. I too was disappointed that the new figures were not following the pattern of previous releases - infantry, with a few cavalry mounted officers.

I,ve got to agree with you guys on this one i had the same feelings as all 3 of you took the words out of my mouth. They seem to just be repaints and conversions of the del prados. I had the idea in my head of tring to convert some del prados for awhile but have never converted metal before and after seeing i think panzers posts of K&C conversions was thinking of converting some dragoons into grenadier a chevals by a head swoop to a bearskin and painting the jackets blue. This seems to be what andy has done. I think for $65 a figure he should at least have new poses. I would also rather see more foot figures than cavalry. And i like to try and keep my napoleonic collection complete but 10 new cavalry all at once at $65????? FOR REHASH???? $650??????? I like you guys think i rather buy del prado for the price difference I know that some need a little touch up here and there but i,ve gotten good at matching the paint for touch ups. I gave my kid a del prado that arrived broken. The leg of the figure broke completly off the figure and the figure came off the horse and the horse itself was split in two(I now know that del prado horses are 2 part split down the middle)and i repaired the figure and touched up the paint which was chipped all over and when i went to give him the figure which i replaced i could not tell which was which.I think they are painted just about as good as K&C other than being a little on the messy side but easy to touch up. SCEIC I think its time to add what are the new napoleonic and when will they be released at the bottom of your all your posts again.

I count myself among the people I am about to describe. I want to say Lincoln or Franklin said something like this but I may be wrong.

You can please some of the people some of the time, but you can not please all the people all the time.

I am never satisfied. But, I am thinking about them and perhaps in a day or week or two, I will give in and buy them. Michael

Buy the Del Prado or the new K&C...Don't wait for the new K&C, there is only 10 of each going to each dealer they will be gone in a week if not days!!!!

WELLINGTON

I would first buy the K&C then the Del Prado there are thousands of those made...;)

SPEAKING OF THE NEW DEL PRADO..THE FIRST FOUR FIGURES AVAILABLE DO NOTHING FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
