I have a couple of Delprado figures I picked up at a flea market....two are okay but very thick in proportion....two are quiet good I think.. I .have just checked Delprado site for price.... $15......Painted..all metal.....how come they are so cheap>.....even if they vary in sculpturing they would be ideal to bulk up mass dioramas or for newcomers to TS collecting ....Scale is quoted at 1/30...60mm...... IF ...1/32 is 54mm........What in mm is 1/35 ......is it around 50/48mm ?........TS makers seem to have their own scale's...most noticeable when you see figure's againt Tank's etc,,,,,some match some appear too large to me...are there two standards of scales for figure's and non figures?..... Building always look great scale wise....I get confused with scales.....TomB

Tom ,

I just picked up a new Delprado item as well just this week...1941 German Cavalry trooper mounted...
got it for $19...It is decent as far as paint job but it is 1/32...
This is what i dug up online as an explanation between 1/32 & 1/35...

1/32 scale is popular among builders of model military vehicles and toy soldier collectors. It is also used by some slot car racers. 1/32 is the height of the "standard" toy soldier. It is the same as the 54mm - 2 1/4 inch scale used by miniature figure collectors.

1/35 is another scale for military model builders. Its human miniature figures stand 50 to 51mm tall.

Jag....That is an excellent price for a mounted figure...but why are you not happy with the 1/32 scale ?...is it too small or large ?...I was under the impression DelP scale was 60mm......What is the average scale of K&C...60mm or 54 mm.....their scale seems to vary from pictures I have seen alongside and on Tanks.....thanks for the 1/35 scale height......cheers TomB

Tom ,

I am happy with the mounted german cavalry , it is a tad smaller than the 1/30 stuff...But i have 1/32 & 1/30 mixed together in my display case...
i knew it was 1/32 before i bought it...It was advertised as such...

Del Prado > Cavalry of the Ages
This Del Prado series is 1/32nd Scale or 54mm in size.

The avg scale of K&C is 60mm , i have been collecting K&C for twenty years...Some of their earlier Matte figures from the same series are IMO smaller than the ones at present...

I have Del Prado from different ages: some are little bigger than KC, some little smaller, some exactly the same size, anyway they can all mix with....The quality is very different from figure to figure, and you can use them to fill a dio or to find a pose which other manufacturers haven ' t made, maybe putting them behind the main line. Sure, looking at their price, even considered the lower quality, this makes you think about the other companies ( and if I m not wrong the Del Prado prices haven' t increased for years now...! Maybe those chinese workers can live with the money they used to live 8-10 years ago....Or maybe all the chinese painters haven' t seen their salary growing up as much as some pretend..:wink2:....And maybe they are trasported by cheaper planes using cheaper gasoline...{eek3})

Very good points.....maybe they use retired Chinese workers who can only earn miserly wages or their pensions will be cut...." DONT RAISE THE BRIDGE,,,LOWER THE WATER "......dont know if that is relevant but it sounds good...cheers TomB
