Nice one Brian!

You beat me to it, I was thinking of doing something along similar lines with a 1/32 Figarti SAS / 21stC 109 mix. This looks great.
Where's the Indiana Jones figure? ;)

Simon

Thanks Simon...I wasnt sure about the plane but it worked great I think...and I didnt have to shell out $800....

....which is always a bonus :p
Much as though I'd love a warbird, at $20 a pop, you can't go too far wrong with the 21st C, and yes, it fits in nicely.

Yeah I'm thinking about maybe getting a couple more planes now for a larger Dio.

With all you plane buffs roaming the countryside I was wondering if any of you incorporate them into a dio? If so please post! :) Or are you waiting for the ground crews to be produced??

Sorry....I honestly don't want to wind up the Warbirds fans.....and I'm aware how much you guys love them, but how on earth can you justify the price of them? It's completely beyond me......Apart from the Stringbag that is.
Anyway, as long as you Warbird guys are happy, then who am I to open my big mouth?

Regards

Harry old chap
Personally i would buy those warbirds but it is the thought of the slave labour that has gone into it that puts me off a bit.:):)

I think you misunderstand D.
Warbirds are produced by slave labour whittling away at their bamboo cell bars during their 3-hour lunch breaks.

PS. Have any SOHK sets winged their way south of the greasy Limpopo yet? I know what I'm going to be buying in HK on Thursday afternoon. Watch this space in the Diorama section.
Cheers

Hey Warbuff!!

A big STANDS ALONE to you sir- I have been hearing how everyone loves these desert figs and how they are so hot and all but no one has propped em up- great job!!! The dio looks fantastic.

Another added bonus- the Barszo building- thanks to Leadman and yourself for steering me to those cool desert buildings. I plan on picking some up here in the future to go with my KC SF series- it looks like they scale perfectly with KC.

Well done!!

I haven't made the leap into SOHK yet. However I can confirm that the LRDG seem to have lost direction in the desert. They turned right at the palm tree instead of left and ended up in Durban.

PS I tried to get my wife to stop buying Barbie dolls for the girls by telling her that Barbie's hair is actually purchased in bulk from Thai Aids orphans just before they are shipped off too slave labor camps.
She just looked at me. I think she realizes by now that I am a bit of a wind-up merchant.

I would also consider putting the EA21 fig on the stairs of the building and perhaps moving the prone figures to the tops of the building- if they can see over it- otherwise, they may get pelted with sand should those LRDG chevies get rolling out to engage the enemy.

Also, perhaps move the German prisoner into the shade- the little alleyway there- the British are pretty humane- can't imagine they'd leave a POW in the hot desert sun- Nazi or not. :):)

I've also been looking at the Barszo buildings Chris. I agree, they look the Biz and now that I have a postal address again - I'll be ordering some of them up for future desert dios.
Cheers

Looks like someone found some other use of the Barzso Shores of Tripoli buildings.

Let me help a brother out- just in case you loose his address again-

www.barszo.com

This is a fun dio- definately kicks the imagination into overdrive.

The Barszo colonial building is really good too- I am going to score one of those for my fledgling AWI collection.

Thanks guys...yeah those buildings go well in the desert thats for sure! And my $20 plane doesnt look too shabby either! :D:):D

Nice plane, did you 'weather' it a bit behind the nose, or did it come like that:)
