For my fellow crusades enthusiasts.......I just picked up the King & Country Desert Village Gate from Troops of Time in Jacksonville, Florida. It's a beautiful piece. I love the colorful red and white entrance way. It is just so....Arab. I'll be adding it to my crusades siege diorama. I'm building my diorama around the JG Miniatures Saracen ancient city walls, towers and gate. I'm placing my new Desert Village Gate inside the castle, directly behind the JG gate. A figure would enter the walled city through the JG Miniatures wooden city gate and then pass directly into and through the Desert Village gate. I always thought the JG gate looked a bit boring and weak in terms of defensive requirements. With the Desert Village Gate behind it, there is now a fortified wall with battlements, atop a colorful city entrance, over the path leading into the city. I'm also adding cyoress trees in planters to the two towers next to the JG gate and also to the edges of the new Desert Village Gate, to give a more stately appearance to the walled city entrance. I have previously added carpets to the entranceways of the towers and a planter with ferns above the JG gate. As soon as they are released, I plan to also put the new K&C Desert Village Stable and Watchtower inside the walls of my Saracen walled city. I might now make my diorama to be viewed from both the front and back, also showing an inside view of the front wall of the fortress city. I'm still in the process of making the extra potted cypress trees for the gate area. I'll finally really put up pictures of how it looks very soon. George
