I thought I would just prepare this thread for Wraith, Easy and Rob who must be just about home now after an exhausting day. Their day is not over unfortunatley for them. Thye now have to upload all those pictures and give us a detailed report of the show. Since I cannot make them all a nice warm cup of tea this will have to do. Come on boys Remember England expects and all that.

Damian

Yes, England and the whole world expects you to do your collective duties.

Would love to hear about any forthcoming sets that Andy may have talked about.

I think we will have to wait until tomorrow. The boys are all exhausted. What with catching a train to Euston station catching a tube all the way to the Hotel. Then having to lug all those parcels back with them on the tube. Standing room only I will bet and loads of tourists with backpacks jostling you.
Exhausting
Regards
Damian

Going to bed???? Playing with their toys???

I thought these were BRITISH members of the forum. Brits are fully expected to DO THEIR DUTY!

At Rorke's Drift, did the troops say, "I'm a bit tired tonight"???

In the Crimea did they say, "Charge the guns? No sir, we're in the middle of a card game"???

On D-Day did they stay on their ships for one more cup of tea???

When there is a duty to perform, British subjects have risen to their calling time and time again!

Perhaps the empire is getting soft....

There is a DUTY to your fellow forum members.

To your stations, British subjects! The toy soldier world is depending on you!

Do your duty.

Subjects ! They are NOT subjects you are referring to.

They are your Imperial Majesties, His & Her Royal Highnesses and the entourage of Generals and ranking officers.

The British did stop for tea, after Nimagen (or so it was alleged).

Where is the London report ? the world wonders.

Still no news. They must be tierd.
Was Nelson tired at Trafalgar?
Was Johnny Wilkinosn tired in Oct 2003?
Was England tired at the world cup final in 1966 or when they won the Ashes in 2005?
This is not the time to close your eyes and think of England, but to go forward together and give us the lowdown and pictures we all crave for.
Wraith, Eazy, Rob, Uk Bod all the rest of you. Once more unto the breech

I wasn't there unfortunately :(
I had a family party to go to which was pretty good and much alcohol was consumed :)
Thankfully pie, chips and Lucozade at 2am this morning means I have escaped headache free!!! :D

Dissapointed not to make the show though but on the bright side I have saved myself a load of money from any impulse purchases and can concentrate on affording that Desert Tiger.

Perhaps they are all on the phone to their bankers trying to figure out how to cover their expenses for the past couple days....

Gents,

The London show was probably the busiest that I have ever gone to. Tony will probably give you the stats and so on later. What was noticeable was there was a large number of european visitors and tradesmen to the show this time.

JJD was represented by the the man himself at the TMTerrain store and he had the new 1812 series with him which is available from Feb if I remember rightly. The first release is a Canadian regiment and they were as one now expects, great poses and detail. The Montcalm figure was also on show and again this would be a must-have for any JJD collectors. (Sorry no photographs this time as I forgot my camera in the panic to get out of the house before my train left:rolleyes:).

Figarti was also there with its releases from the Chicago show, loved the V2 which was on display as well as the B-17 which was painted in Coastal Command colours. I also had my first viewing of the buildings and in the end bought the Western European farm building. I do like the LRDG vehicles that Figarti make and in my humble opinion they are better than the K&C equivalents. In all a good display from the Figarti guys and now just hope that they make the Lancaster as there new aircraft. Me and a few others I believe. (I can also see why people collect the K&C Warbirds, they do look amazing as centrepieces of collections).

K&C had there new Crimean War figures on display (I picked up the new wave to keep my Crimean collection up todate). The one thing to note was a. How big K&C UK is becoming - there must have been at least a dozen or so staff plus floaters and b. The numbers of people buying their stuff - this hobby is booming. There was also a number of younger collectors in there area buying in bulk. No more doom-mongering about a dying hobby. Good displays as always showing the ranges.

Britains featured their soon to be released Zulu War range and these figures are stunnung the detail on the new Zulus and Brits is very good. The new hospital is simply a must have when it is released in the Spring. It was also good to speak to Richard and Ken from Britains to find out what is coming in the future and other information. It looks like the Zulu range will be an ongoing series with the other major ranges such as ACW, AWI, Napoleonics and WW1/2. Rorkes Drift will be the first few waves and then who knows, so get your suggestions to Richard Walker on the Britains pages. I know that I'll be getting this series.

Conte was available through Maison Militaire and this year I bought a number of the Spartan/Persian series - in fact enough to set up a mid-sized diorama. I know these figures are either loved or not on this forum but I like them for what they are and am pleased to have them in my collection. These figures were shifted pretty quickly and when I went back to pick up my bundle most of the series was sold out. Hi to UKREB by the way, I met him at MM talking about Confederat Casualties figures.

There was alot of other stuff to report on but I couldn't go everywhere due to time. Apologies for not taking the camera..........

They are at the computer alright:D

And redhugh has it in one.
It was a carefully selected choice of either

a) rushing home immediately after the show to post info and photos, or

b) booking a room for the night and drinking myself in to oblivion, courtesy of Mr Elliott and Mr Neville (the shandy drinking one who operated video cameras, as opposed to the 'ooh, I seem to have contracted food poisoning the night before' one )

Option b) won.

I'll upload what I've got this evening and get it in on the forum.

Simon
