'May the best man win!' Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro compete for same part in Martin Scorsese adverts for Australian billionaire's James Packer's casino
Assembling Hollywood's biggest actors and director was never going to come cheap, and that's exactly what Australia's richest man James Packer discovered when he commissioned a series of adverts to plug his Asian Casinos. Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro - who were reportedly paid $13 million each for their roles - star as themselves, both vying for the same part in Martin Scorsese's latest blockbuster. Brad Pitt even makes a cameo, albeit on a giant screen. The budget for the ads, promoting the City of Dreams casino in Manila and Studio City in Macau, reportedly cost $70 million to make. According to Slash Film, the adverts, which were helmed by Scorsese, also act as trailers for a new promotional short film.
