When we were at the NJ Show I was telling Matt from Hobby Bunker that I was doing this Diorama, he asked me if I had seen the Flying Tiger Pilots from Frontline Figures, I had not, so he contributed them to the Diorama. Thanks Matt. Also Ronnie from Crossroads threw in a Corgi pilot, and it all started to come together. The vehicles which I modified and heavily weathered are from First Gear / Britains. The tents, barrels, crates and of course the P40 are from Figarti Miniatures. OH.. and the photographer is a Christmas Figure.

The use of depth and color is excellent. I think this photo and the new Figarti pictures from a couple of days ago show that quality photography can only enhance their figures and vehicles.

I have to confess I have no formal training in Photography and Digital Enhancement. I am just driven by pure determination and love of this aspect of the hobby. I hope all of the members are equally pleased with our work. I will get a few more pics up later. Alex

I keep saying to anyone that will listen, these dio pictures ought be made into a calendar. I would buy one in a heartbeat......Great work. Michael

Great stuff Alex!!! Your dioramas just keep getting better every time.
Are you still thinking of doing other eras in time besides WWII or are you just going to stick with the WWII dioramas?

Fish - There is a possibility of Civil War and WWI

Mike - Why don't you just download the pics and make a screen saver.

Here is a closer shot so you can see the detail...............

Because if a calendar was done professionally, it would look nicer than anything I could throw together...How about a Figarti calendar, Rick? Michael

Firebat,

That diorama was worth waiting for! Fantastic job!! It really makes the AVG come alive, and if there were ever a group of men who deserves being honored, it was them. Thanks for the excellent effort.

Regards,

Louis

I am a proponent of Dioramas for just that reason, honoring the men they represent, and that is why Nick and I take this work so seriously. That is also why we are very thankful to those who help us accomplish this. Sarge

Alex, the diorama has to be the best you've shown us todate. It just seems so complete in its detailing. Please tell me about that Dodge truck. Who makes it, it looks to scale, did you paint it the olive drab?

We were introduced to these Trucks by Richard from First Gear / Britain's. They are Die Cast and they are 1/34th scale. They are extremely detailed, I absolutely love them. The one that is prominent in the pic above is in it's original form, but I weathered it. There is another one which was a Blue and White Civil Defense Truck, which I painted, weathered and modified a bit.

If you recall the Corsair Diorama, there are some First Gear trucks there also. Some are repainted some are not, all are weathered. I used to spray paint, but I don't like the fumes. Now I use cheap Water Color craft paint dry brushed on, for weathering, and the result is incredible.

My hat is off to those who help us present this form of entertainment to the members, especially when one Manufacturer helps another to complete a project. So far we have had participation from Figarti, NMA and First Gear / Britians.

This does not mean we endorse these products, and we always give a objective opinion of their quality if asked.

Crossroads Diecast www.crossroadsdiecast.com carries First Gear and there are a lot of them on EBAY.....

I will take some pics of the trucks in the near future and do a review in our section of Toy Soldiers Chat.
