I'm curious, did the Conte GIs get to OTSN? THere were (possibly) to be a few sets, and the resin prototypes for the next wave. Anybody see them? Any comments?

Thanks,
Gary

Gary, Yes Hobby Bunker had I think about 100 sets on Alamo blister cards.Rush job no doubt. They looked very good. Some might not like the colors, a sort of Marine Corps Green or creamy tan, but these are just an initial offering. They had 5 different sets, each with doubles. Firing set had duplicates of some , Charging , same thing ect. ect.
Looked very good to me but I didnt buy any. They were selling at a premium.Sell they did.I have enough irons in the fire with painting right now, but oh my, yes, they will be great fun painting.Look like exact copies of the ONWTC guys.I beleive they have an arrangment between the 2 companies.Thumbs up !

Gary, I bought the 5 blister cards to get all the poses. To be honest a little dissapointed, I didn,t care for the plastic, a lot of bent rifles, colors not that good. A few poses I did not recall ONTC showing, but they definetly are from ONTC, not the Ortiz poses.
I guess the plastic question is if they are done in China we won,t see the great plastic done in his earlier sets.
FINALLY got my Alamo #6 & #7 as I left for work today. Hoorah!

GK, yeah the color they ran for the GI'S is pretty awful especially if you don't paint.
I think you can get those weapons straight using the old boil and shock method.
Should be easier than trying to straighten long muskets.
Sorry I lost you someplace at OTSN. I was feeling kinda puny, back and neck bothered me pretty good walking around too much and I tend to get cranky and I just wandered off from Britians room. How do you like your ALamo sets?

:p

As much as I can get frustrated with Conte, that guy produces the very best in plastics. Needless to say the sets are fantastic. I,ve completed the Alamo using Barzo,s walls and it takes up almost the entire 8' x 8' board I,ve got it set up on, it,s huge.

GK, Yes, I bet thats an amazing site all completed.I did the same thing using Barzo's walls. My table is 6x12' and I have yet to set it all up.I painted some other formtech and barzo buildings too for use in the Peninsula for Napoleonics, Sharpes rifles and all that.
Mr. Barzo and his wife are so darn nice!!!
Fort Clatsop is but an hour or so away from me and we talked about the Lewis and Clark for quite a while.
I agree,Contes plastic figures and playsets are TOP NOTCH.Got me back into 54mm after 30+ years!!!
As far as being frustrated with release dates and teasers, I agree, it can be a bit of a pain. But I look at it like this. The goose that lays Golden eggs is here!
Sometimes it's got muddy feet.I can live with that.
Enjoy your Alamo!!!
