Maybe you guys could help, besides the paint job uniform color, is there really any difference between Jenkins' 44th line infantry and grenadiers and the 47th line infantry and grenadiers? To me, the uniforms look the same minus the color scheme. So you guys who own some, and have a quirky attention to detail like I do, could chime in on this one. JJ told me personally that the 44th had specific uniforms that couldn't be used in the rest of the war, I was wondering if he meant the paint job? And while we're comparing, is there a difference between the 44th and the 28th? The only thing I've noticed on these besides the color scheme (obviously;)) is the extra white line on the yellow cuffs. Thanks guys.

Braddock had the 44th adopt a lighter weight white trouser for the BoM campaign. Their normal trouser were red. As both th 28th and the 44th had yellow facings, the 44th and 28th would have had a very similar appearance, especially as the remaining differences would largely have been in lace and loops. See the thread I posted earlier this week for drummer, lace, and flags.

Goggle the "44th regiment foot", to see the "normal" uniforms.

History page shows an illustration of a regular.
Docs page shows a grenadier.

Actually, I think John factors in the facing color into his decision on which units to depict. In my opinion, the white and yellow facings are the classiest colors.

Myself, I love Frontline's French Regulars for the FIW - those white uniformed figures look great in mass, whereas I do not like the look of the British 35th Foot Regiment with orange facings and an orange flag. Do not think even John could make the 35th look good. A unit with a green facing might end up looking great or like a bunch of Christmas decorations, unsure.

There is a publication/CD depicting the uniforms of the period by regiment , if you want to hunt that source down, you can start here. http://www.britishbattles.com/braddock.htm but this might be better http://reeseartofwars.com

Thanks for the info! I'm glad you cleared that up about the pants, Britains 44th grenadier single figure has red pants, and Jenkins has the white-ish ones, so that makes sense. You're right about the 35th, the orange and red are too close on the color wheel. Frontline uses a full-colored red. I think John could do them if he used more of a worn or faded look like in the Last of the Mohicans; almost in the same way he toned down the bright yellow on the 44th's facings. Funny about the green and red! Although I did like in Northwest Passage how the British soldiers had green facings, looked good with the rangers.

Aren't the French suppose to be in a off white uniform? Also I don't really care for the hats on the French, aren't they suppose to be tricornes? They look more like AWI.I've seen drawings depecting both kinds. If JJ doesn't do the 35th that surely takes out Ft.William Henry as a range.
