Dioramas/Diodramas (2 Viewers)

Re: Diodramas

It is my opinion that with the advent of Sheperd Paine's book, first published in 1980, and all the other great diorama artwork that has followed, the word "Diorama" as used in the traditional sense has become inadequate to describe the artwork that is going on today. I prefer to think of them as "Diodramas". Here are a few examples starting with Shep himself......

Re: Diodramas

"Hook! .... Hook! I'll make a soldier out of you yet!!"

Excellent. And diodrama is very fitting.

Re: Diodramas

Just replacing post #1 to add Shep's name.

Re: Diodramas

Model builder unknown.
Some of these models are from shows and exhibitions where the picture taker didn't record the artist's name.I will attempt to track it down whenever possible and add the name to the pic ASAP.

Re: Diodramas

Personally I have never done what I consider a diodrama,my work has always been in what I call the "storyboard diorama" area.(static figures in relaxed poses)
I really love the work here and would like to try my hand at it after I finish my present project.I want to start my research now on your modeling techniques, could you guys point me in the right direction ?
Thanks ! Cheers! John.

Re: Diodramas

A piece of Victory that was actually at The Battle of Trafalgar .

I have opened a new thread for this build. The administration has kindly opened a new sub-forum for diodramas that are not of a serial type nature ,called Dioramas/Diodramas .My Victory diodrama meets the criteria for a serial diodrama I beleive. Thanks ! Cheers.John.:D
