I don't see how it's bad taste. Image from dead personalities are used in marketing efforts. I'm sure or I hope that Direct TV paid her family royalties (assuming they had right to her image as used in the movie).

One of the parents appears to have authorized the ad which is even creepier in my mind. Imagine using your dead daughter in a commercial - getting paid for it.

Right, really died. It's actually the basis for a supposed curse involving other people associated with the production, if I remember my movie trivia correctly. Of course, if you wait long enough, everyone involved in a movie will be dead, so QED for those who believe in curses.
