One thing I'd like to suggest when sets of cavalry figures are released, is that there be one or two figures released dismounted -- like what was done with the French Currassiers. This gives us the option of picking up a representative figure of the range without commiting to the cost or space requirements of a mounted figure. Also, a lot of cavarly spent a significant amount of time fighting dismounted -- particulary in the ACW (consider Buford at Gettysburg).

Actually no. I'm generally not a diorama builder and often just want an example of the unit, uniform or period. For example, I'm trying to collect figures that show as many different uunits and uniforms at Waterloo as possible. In many cases I might be tempted to buy a $30 dismounted figure but would not be interested in an $80 figure with a horse. Also, my shelf space is becoming more and more limited, and a mounted figure takes up 3 times the space of one on foot -- 4 times if the depicting a dismounted trooper with a horse. Finally, if I wanted to represent the trooper in action dismounted, the horses would generally be taken to the rear (again, my Buford at Gettysburg example).

Ah then ... you may purchase & keep the trooper , and sell me the horse

I love NAPs, foot troops, artillery and cavalry ... and very much the horses

... camels and mules would do too
