I'm sure there is a thread about this somewhere, but I couldn't find it...

I have a small display case from IKEA that has worked so far, but need something bigger now. I am finding that most "curio cabinets" don't have enough shelves or the shelves have too much space between levels or the cabinet blocks too much light. What are you all using to display your collections and where did you get it?

Hi zblang,

I use lighted curio cabinets that have adjustable shelves. That is to say, you can move the shelves up or down in order to adjust the distance between any two shelves. You may add shelves if the cabinet does not come with enough of them to accomodate your need.

When I need additional shelves, I always go to the local glass company have additional shelves cut. Having the shelves cut locally is usually much less expensive than ordering additional shelves from the manufacturer.

I also suppliment the internal lighting in the curios with track lights installed in the ceiling of my display room. I can adjust the track lights to highlight any area I wish to feature within any specific cabinet.

I have obtained most of my cabinets from Nebraska Furniture Mart in the Kansas City area. If you go to their website, you will find a huge selection of quality curio cabinets from which to choose.

I am posting a few photos of the my curio cabinets for your review. I hope the photos help illustrate what I use and how I display my collection. If you have any questions regarding my setup, please let me know and I will be happy to respond to them.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)
