Hello everyone,

I am moving to Baltimore at the end of the summer (finally, gainful employment!), and I will have for the first time in a long time the room to display the majority if not all of my collection. It has occurred to me that I am going to need to purchase several display cabinets for my figures. Do any of you have a favorite brand or source for these? I know Jim Hillstead offers them, but I am not sure what the pricing is like.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks,

Cole Jones

Hello Cole-

good to hear from you again. I have heard from some dealers I have spoken with that they can go as high as $700+ for really big ones. Sometimes I have seen department stores sell their used ones on the cheap- perhaps that is an alternative you can consider.

Glad to hear you are coming to Baltimore and things are on the up for you. My office is right there on Inner Harbor next to the Hard Rock Cafe. I live and work mostly in Pa but my firm is located in Baltimore. I will be making my rounds in November- December to smack a client into shape :D Perhaps we can hook up for lunch or something.

Can't say I know of any toy soldier shops in Baltimore but you are strategically located in a very historic area.

STANDS ALONE!!

Chris,

Thanks for the advice. I will have to look into some used ones. I have three pretty big cases, but packed full (read: no breathing room) I can only manage about 2,000 figures in them. So, ideally I would like to get at last 3 more large cases. One place I checked out quoted me 2,000 a case!!! Yikes!

I am glad to hear there is another toy soldier enthusiast in the Baltimore area. I don't know of any shops there, but I believe there is a shop in Washington DC. I am going to be at Hopkins which is mid-town, but I would love to come to the harbor for lunch and toy soldier chat.

Take care!!

Cole
