Do you buy just single K&C figures ? (1 Viewer)

I haven't really bought any single pieces of ebay. I think I would rather get the entire set instead.

I guess a better way to ask the question is ... "Have you bought a K&C Set with the intention of only keeping one or a few of the figures in the Set ?"

This really gets to the heart of the situation of HOW WE COLLECT - Are you building dioramas ? Are you completist of a range ? Do you buy anything and everything ? Do you just collect sets ?

Many times you will see just single figures on Ebay and it makes you wonder how the set gets broken up ? I have been to Toy Soldier Shows where people have have sold just single figures due to others in the set being broken by their owners or in shipping to the dealer - do those interest you ?

It just a different question and point of view with collecting. :D

Oh- ok. No, I have to say that I have purchased complete sets with the intention of keeping them all but then realize that maybe such and such pose won't work and sell a single figure off to raise more funds for the defense budget. It's not a practice I like to follow but will do on a rare occasion. Not a completeist but a diorama builder who will hopefully have a nice museum like Louis's.

Single figures orphaned from their sets do interest me depending on the price and how they would fit in the overall scheme of my dios.

As figure sets are getting smaller ( used to be 4 now usually 3 or 2 figures ) breaking them up is becoming a smaller concern for me. The release of single figures seems to be the norm, especially since prices have inched up. Gone are the days when you'd buy a set of 4 and 1 or 2 were castaways.
I generally prefer the non-action poses like marching, pointing, resting etc, especially if they are unique. I'm definitely not a completist. Truthfully lately because shipping is so expensive on Ebay I rarely buy individual figures that have been separated from sets because it just isn't worth it, too expensive. :(
