Being held this weekend in Dayton, 3 of the 4 remaining Raiders are holding a final salute to all involved. More than 600 are expected for the invitation only event, including Air Force leaders, widows and children of the Raiders, and even some relatives of the Chinese villagers that assisted the Raiders. This will be the final reunion/toast held because of the advanced age of the survivors. The toast will be made with Cognac from 1896, the year of Doolittle's birth. :salute:: -- Al

Good post. I got to meet one of the Raiders LTC Cole at last years Texas Show. He was over 90 years old and still was very sharp. What a pleasure it was to meet him :salute::

The three attending Raiders were Lt.Col. Edward Saylor (93), Sgt. David Thatcher (92), and Lt.Col. Richard Cole (98). Lt.Col. Robert Hite (93) was unable to attend. Hite is the last living Raider that was captured by the Japanese. -- Al
