On its turret the numerals 101 are placed as 1+01 in black with white outlines
someone saied to me that this tank is incorrectly marked/numbered

The number of this model would be for one of the the command tanks (the other being 102) of 1./s.H.Pz.Abt.506 (1st Company). The numerals are correctly placed for a first company tank. The numerals should be in white or yellow outline only with no black fill.

The Pz.Bef.Wg.Tiger Ausf.Bs (Command Tigers with star antenna) were only issued to the Abteilung command group which consisted of 3 tanks numbered 01, 02 and 03. The command tanks were supplied without zimmerit.

As for being accurate for the time and place. Aside from the error regarding the antenna this tank could be representative of Tiger 101 during the battle of the Bulge. I suspect the real vehicle didn't have zimmerit though.

thanks for the informations in your replay
i am not an expert of tanks in general so i dont understand very well about the numerals question and the antennas of this tanks the only notion i have is that the sdkfz 267 has a rod antenna and the sdkfz has a star antenna
you say about this tank that there ia a mistake about its antenna
can you be more specific?
what version is this tank supposed to be sdkfz267 or sdkfz268?
You also say that the pz.abt.506 command battalion was given command tanks numbered 01/02/03 than is this tank incorrectly numbered?
Sorry about my ignorance but this is one of the reasons why i like to ask this questions
can you help me a little bit more?
thanks very much appreciated!

also if you say that the number should have no black fiilling but only white or yellow outlines does this count as a major inaccuracy?

I don't think so since there seems to be a question mark as to whether the outline was white or yellow. The answer to your question really boils down to what you consider a major or minor error.

Maybe you might want to email someone at a tank museum in England. They should be able to help you out with any questions you have.
fmethorst was very informative. I think he was a WWII Tank commander in his past life. LOL
