Dredd (1 Viewer)

I just watched the DVD. Not bad.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1343727/
I am amazed...I thought that would be the last movie they would do a remake on...what was wrong with "Rocky's" first Dregg.......next thing you know they will be doing a remake of "To Hell and Back"......they should leave well alone....a crapped out remake of To Hell and Back would be an insult to Audi Murphy...a REAL American hero...not a fake American film hero....my opinion...Tomb

Sly's 90's version was just Dredd'full.......Talking about remakes Total Recall 2012 just did not have the same impact that Arnies version had! {at the time of its release}.
But im just sick of watching these CG bloated crap movies....Gen Y can have them.
Im going to dig out War&Peace,Waterloo,Zulu,Patton,The Vikings,The Dirty Dozen ect ect.

Sly aint the greatest actor but he tries...some of his movies are quiet entertaining......saw one of his movies recently...set in the 1930's or there abouts where he was a gangster who had to go straight or something like that.....Sly was Sly but I enjoyed it...dont know what the name was but it was a bit different from his usual movie...cheers TomB

Oh Tom, nobody's going to do that! Besides, we "'Mericans" need the pretend film heroes to elect to office. (Winkity Wink Wink!") :wink2:

Ha Ha Ha....come on now....if you are referring to Ronald Reagen,he made some good films...Arnie..now that is a interesting thought.....I am afraid Audie is me hero, I would hate to see a crappy remake of To Hell and Back....there were a lot of actors in that film who were never famous but well known and always played good supporting rolls...maybe it was not the greatest movie of all time but it was believably and did not suffer from over bulldusting ....I think the army gave Audi a raw deal.....if he was West Point he would have been a 6 star general....cheers TomB

There's really not need to make a remake unless they CGI Mr. Murphy in. Maybe a movie about Pat Tillman.

Pat Tillman was a football player who gave up a professional career to join the Army Rangers. He was killed by "Friendly Fire" in Afghanistan. There was a cover-up and a phoney story of how he died. Of special interest (to the secular Seth McFarland of Family Guy) is that he was a freethinker proving that they ARE in foxholes.

They are not jokes at Tillman's expense but for Tillman. [FONT=Verdana, Arial, sans-serif]

"......There was even a line in the show that tried to derive comedy from the death in Afghanistan of hero Pat Tillman — the football star-turned Army Ranger who was killed by “friendly fire” in 2004.
The line about Tillman came in a TV newscast the Griffins were watching in the altered “future” a short time after 9/11 didn’t happen. “Coming up next in sports,” said the TV anchorman. “Arizona Cardinal Pat Tillman — tackled by his own team?” (To explain: In this altered future, Tillman never quit football to fight in Afghanistan because the war there never happened because no 9/11 attacks ever took place.)..."

Tom, I have to tell you I like the comedy styling of Tim Minchin, Jim Jeffries, and Wil Anderson. Australians with edge and a message.

So how ABOUT Dredd?

Were we talking about Dredd ?....Hey I checked out the rest of the video clip on Family man...Bit rude at time's but very amusing.......I can now understand the bit about Tillman....cheers TomB

Dreddful movie. It was like watching Doom or a shooting video game. I think that the original Stallone movie had a bit more of a plot.

I saw the Stallone version and all I can remember is the seashells.

I love this movie, imo Urban is much underrated actor. Nice graphic and I adore Lena Headey :)
