Was looking at doing this fat duke.
I noticed that one of the commercial heads resembled him in the Morier paintings.
He was grossly overweight and was wearing a cuirass. So I selected an Airfix cuirass. Notice how small the Historex cuirass is for comparison.

That is a Ted Heath face.... Anyway, I made the face fuller and added a Historex tricorne at a rakish angle.

Then I cut up a couple of metal heavy horses and knocked up a rearing horse pose. Surprising quite easy to saw thru the metal pieces. Deciding to use a Historex horse head as these large horses were drawn with smaller refined heads in many classical paintings.

Ive knocked up the cuirass and head of this fig. Remodelled the neck of the horse. A pair of possible boots to be used. This piece will be based on a ptg of William on horseback.

Moving on with this. I drilled two pins to attach the boots (snipped off from an old Tradition figure).

Deciding to preserve my precious Airfix 10th Hussar saddlecloth, I used them as templates to cut out similar shapes from copper sheets.

More putty was added to the legs and rump to create the seat.

I redid the shabraque shapes and then puttied over the seating area to mask the jagged edges.

After adding a layer of putty (and sanding down several times) over the copper template, I've added a saddle on top. The seat and underside of the figure was made even fatter. Ive also widened the cuirass with more putty.
