Dunkirk- remembering 70 years on (1 Viewer)

This weekend guys take a second to remember all those who were killed or took part in the Dunirk evacuation 70yrs ago.The evacuation rescued well over three hundred thousand British and French soldiers and brought them home to fight another day.It enabled Britain to become fortress Britain, being the only country defying Hitler and a beacon of world freedom.

Some of the few remaining veterans and some of those legendary 'Little ships' are returning to Dunkirk this year to remember the sacrifice of their mates who never returned home.And if any of you have any doubt about just what sort of scum we were fighting,heres a sober reminder;

There is a short 10 minute radio programme on BBC called:

"Witness - Left Behind at Dunkirk"

It features an interview with a surviving veteran of the 51st Highland Division.

They were among some 40,000 BEF troops who did not make it out of Dunkirk.

Excellent, thank you Raymond,great interview with a great example of the generation who saved the world from the Nazis.And once again a great example of the behaviour of the German soldier,who not being able to face a prisoner of war in a fist fight, took their normal German route.This is the type of interview that is an absolute treasure,because here we have a veteran,someone who was actually there, telling us of his experiences and how he was treated by some of the filth in the Hitlers army.

On this day 70yrs on,I pay tribute to this man and all his comrades.

We have a whole docu on those who were left behind this Friday,can't wait.
