If you send an e-mail to someone on the forum using "Community", how can you call it up so that you can, say, forward it to yourself and put it into one of your own msm or hotmail folder.

Thanks
Harry

I'll have to double check with Shannon on this, but I don't believe you can forward it to yourself. The e-mail feature will only send it to the other user.

I think the reason may be that if the e-mail is forwarded to you it would give you the e-mail address of the other user. In an attempt to thwart spammers, the forum software is set to not allow other users to see your e-mail address. Too many people trolling for addresses out there...

Good question!

I looked to see if there were a carbon copy or blind copy function in the email template, but it doesn't look like it. The form probably just takes the text you enter, and the email addresses stored on the user profiles, and passes them to your local email program.

The private message template does have a bcc feature, though, so you could copy yourself in that way, on a PM, if you don't happen to store the outgoing messages.

Might be a good question Peter, but your response doesn't quite get to what I'm meaning.
If someone else e-mails me - then I have their address anyway in the "from:" field. What I was meaning was how do I keep a record of e-mails I've sent to other members of the forum using the "Send E-Mail" function in the "Community" section.
Actually, my Good Baron has made the penny drop. Before I send the e-mail; copy and paste it into a Word file. That way, I have a record of what I've sent. I always do this with PM's anyway, so I guess the answer was so obvious - I missed it....:eek::eek:

Thanks
Harry

Thanks, Harry, I'll take it! "A blind squirrel finds an acorn, too", as we say around here :D (referring to myself, of course!)

Ah, I see what you were driving at now. Glad you figured it out without me!
