I was just on frontline figures website and I noticed some pictures of a new set of earthworks for the French and Indian war. http://www.frontline-figures.com/french-indian/index.html What do you think? With the Black Watch figures and now the earthworks it appears that frontline is trying to do the battle of Ticonderoga. I’m hoping that this doesn’t hurt the chances of john releasing a battle of Ticonderoga series.

I have my sets of the earthworks ordered, they will make a excellent addition to John's sets. Even if they are Frontline. I think you are right, Frontline are going for Ticonderoga and leaving the others allow as John is already on top of them.

It is probably another reason John has not come out with more Hignland troops for FIW, as Frontline covered the Black Watch and John has done some Fraser Light Highland Troops. More Highlander by John would be great.

Feb 2009 releases are due this week. My guess would be more Jacobite Highlanders, British Artillery for POA, some more British for 1812 and sometime for the Raid on St Francis ?? (indians, french, ???)

I can live in hope. :D

These look very nice, however the wall seem a little low. The cannon ports should be that level, but the main parts of the walls should be tall enough to protect the soldiers behind it.

I would love to see what John Jenkins would do if he made some of his own earthworks. Mr. Jenkins is the master when it comes to making diorama accessories.

Agreed. The earthworks are too uniform. They were built in a rush by the French with whatever trees they could fell in the immediate area and stacked and supported as well as could be done, at various levels to accommodate cannon and firing lines. It would be a shame of Frontline's efforst decreased Jenkins interest in developing Ticonderoga as a series. A few modified Highlanders, some French action poses, a proper earthworks etc. I don't think were asking for much? :D Cheers, ssorc1
