Have not seen it yet. Has not been offered to me yet, but I will not sign. My word in all my transactions has always been enough..Michael

I doubt if I would sign it, but I'm curious to read it.

Where can I find a copy?

I'm can't imagine what info any government would want with me.

Be very careful about email messages from ebay - it's quite possible that it's not actually from ebay.. I've seen nothing about this.. Any messages from ebay should be in your messages box when you log into "my ebay."

Better safe than sorry.

It is only on the eBay UK site as far as I know. eBay UK said name brand manufacturers are trying to block the sale of their products on online marketplaces regardless of whether such items are new or second-hand, genuine or fake. The petition calls on the European Commission to amend EU competition laws to stop the name brand manufacturers are trying to block the sale of their products on online. The manufacturers are trying this in the US too.

Sounds like e-bay is in trouble not only with vendors but also with manufacturers. The fact is that eBay isn’t interested in the small seller these days - the person who is trying to sell something they don’t want any more. e-bay also insists on sellers offering Paypal (owned by eBay) which also takes a slice. And in some categories sellers are forced to offer free postage - meaning if they want to use registered mail to ensure something is delivered and prevent buyers saying it hasn’t arrived, they are even more out of pocket.

But unfortunately, despite the high fees and stifling rules, other smaller marketplace sites which have started up do not have the volume of buyers to sell things quickly or get a top price. I do not know how a specialty site would do if it became widely known like Treefrog is proposing.
